Pregnancy in Pictures

On the eve of the birth of our first child it is only appropriate to post a few pictures of the last few months so you can see how far (and wide) I've become....

It has been an amazing journey from start to (nearly) finish, and the experience surpassed any expectations of wonder I had. I still can't believe that tomorrow our child will emerge from my belly. Incredible.

Anyway, enough words...pictures are always better!

I thought my belly was big then....
Stripes make it look bigger!
No rest for the weary.

I have spent a lot of time on this sofa.

Getting bigger....

And bigger...

Still working - up to 10 days before the big day!

Our first hint of summer got me tanning in our garden

More Summer... I love it!
Timmy didn't understand why I kept standing there and smiling like a goofball

Sunshine!

The sun was shining, the picnic basket was packed and Timmy was overjoyed to hear the word 'beach.'

The hat was slightly difficult to get on but this picture was well worth the struggle! Yee-hawwww!!!

I look like I ate a picnic for 20!

Sunglasses and jumpers. A Welsh summer's day.

Running for rocks...never gets old.

Timmy walks on water.

I'm coming to get you Mom....

I'm probably going to run into you...

I should probably veer off...

Total time elapsed: 3.5 seconds

All in all, a wonderful day was had at Sandy Haven. The tide started to come in quickly so we made a rapid exit.  Timmy promptly fell asleep in his bed. It had been a busy busy day for a Dog.

Humble Plantings

Last year I packed everything I possibly could into two beds and filled our entire porch with pots of tomatoes, herbs, and strawberries. Humbly, I am limiting how much I've planted this time around as I think we're going to be a bit busy growing our own little seedling come July.

I've also slightly changed what I have planted, and fingers crossed some of this works out....sowing seeds outdoors in the UK is a big gamble even though I've left it late and the forecast doesn't look too bad for the coming week....

Here is what is planted so far, besides a few rows of basil seeds and "Little Gem" lettuce seeds. I think the only thing I'll be able to fit in the raised bed now will be carrots. They did well last year despite cramped conditions so I'm feeling confident about planting them again.

Oh, and how come no one told me to avoid planting mint in a raised bed. It completely took over. The root structure is amazing. I dug down about 6 inches to find it weaving its way across the entire raised bed, and sending shoots up everywhere! Hopefully that's eradicated now....but I have a funny feeling I'll be seeing it crop up again.

What's a 'cwtch'?

The Welsh use the word 'cwtch' to mean 'cuddle' or to describe a small cozy place. The idea of a cwtch is comforting and warm, both of which describe our home and our family.

So, this blog is the Little Lloyd Cwtch. We hope you enjoy posts from me, Shifty and perhaps someday from the very littlest Lloyd of all. We won't forget to include pictures from Timmy too...he loves posing for the camera!
